Adjustable Lucite and Brass table/hand mirror, France. 1950’s.
Adjustable Lucite and Brass table/hand mirror, France. 1950’s.
We are especially appreciative of modernist functional yet artistic design, and this French hand mirror is no exception. The question mark styled handle doubles as a hanging hook and stand for hands-free use. Produced in the mid-20th century, the piece is also quite extraordinary for its additional function to hang from the users neck, including a swivelling mirror with both standard and magnifying sides.
The material use is typical of 1950's design for the home, a high-quality unlacquered brass frame and hardware accented with a translucent amber luctite (otherwise known as perspex) handle and dark brown hook cap.
In fantastic condition for its age and fully functional in every aspect.
