This superb Art Deco bronze bowl features uncompromising levels of craft and attention to detail. The mirrored handles are elegant and focused on ornamentation, truly emblematic of the Gustavian period of design, where opulence and ornamentation was heavily featured. Sweden’s post war movement would see a change in this aesthetic and adopt Axel Einnar Hjorth’s ‘Funkis’, or Folk design language and the neighbouring modernist movement. The bowl, nearly an antique, has aged incredibly with a dark bronze with hints of verdigris green brushed around the outer diameter.
