F.M.S Malayan Pewter Coffee Set, Royal Selangor, Malaysia. 1930's.
F.M.S Malayan Pewter Coffee Set, Royal Selangor, Malaysia. 1930's.
A scarce complete tea and coffee set in the Art Deco style, each piece constructed with hand-hammered pewter. Each round handle has been wrapped and braided in blackened cane, all of which is intact and in original condition. The lidded tea and coffee pots each feature chunky hardwood handles (possibly Merbau)
Produced by Royal Selangor in the 1930's, each piece marked 'Malayan Pewter F.M.S' which was the mark used between 1930 and 1950. Pewter is a relatively soft metal, and similar designs produced by Royal Selangor at the time are not often found in such excellent structural condition as these.
