One of our favourite recent acquisitions, this hand hammered piece by French pewter firm Solesmes is a strikingly executed and organic form. A vase of very good scale, the blackberry-like shape is quite reminiscent of ceramicist Mårten Medbo's 'Crowd' series, of which we are long-admirers. It is one of those ever-changing works of design as light and shadow constantly interacts with the piece. Looking from the top-down, the neck terminates in a somewhat contrasting outline of a rose.
Overall in superb original condition, practically untouched.
