Höglund may be a master of many crafts, but we know him best for his ever so recognisable glass creations. This chandelier features his most notable trademarks - three pressed talismans with a mans face, almost acting as Höglund's stamp. These figures first appeared on his whimsical decanters made for Kosta Boda in the 1950s, starting a long-loved series simply called ‘People’.

Lighting is arguably the most important feature in our homes, changing a space with either a flick of a switch or in this case, a strike of a match. The silhouette of a dancing flame is captured in glass form with the stunning central column. The bright orange hues fade as your eyes travel down to the more pale bulbous pendant. Höglund dresses this humble wrought iron frame with vibrant glass clothing before adorning it with jewellery as a finishing touch.

Höglund's personality is on full show with this playful and anthropomorphic piece of art. The arms dutifully raise each of the candles with such poise, allowing all three candles the reach the tip of the glass pillar.

Although Erik Höglund's work is more recent than his mid-century colleagues, he created such a recognisable design style akin to Paavo Tynell that if not instantly, within moments you know you are admiring a price by Höglund.

This truly is a statement piece that would bring a soft a warm glow above an entrance table or an intimate light in a dining room.

The piece is in excellent vintage condition with little to no wear visible on either the iron frame or glass features.
