A cylindrical closed form featuring a striking dynamic raku fired surface, this piece is immediately identifiable as the work of Andrew Niblet with its silver metal collar. A heavy metal bolt with domed cap has been joined to a sculpted recycled silver fork. These objects - often 'found' - are regularly incorporated into Niblett's work. The colouring and finish of this unusual stopper results in sometimes mundane unwanted objects becoming elevated to become relics of time. In turn, this encourages the beholder to explore and interact with the visually juxtaposing vessel.

Matte in finish, this copper glaze is swimming in dusky black with waves of peach, galaxies of purple and hints of blue and green. A genuinely immaculate example of Andrew Niblett's work, a contemporary British artist, likely produced not long after graduating from Bath College in 1991.
