Designed and produced by husband and wife Erich and Ingrid Triller, a unique 'Tobo' bowl with lid produced in their Swedish studio during the 1950's.

A unique speckled ochre glazed lidded bowl. This is a fine example of ‘the Triller’s’ attention to detail and handmade, almost machine-like precision. The knob of the jar lid has the quality of almost being turned on a lathe. Although this is a functional piece, there is little distinction between the quality and craftsmanship ‘the Triller’s’ applied to the rest of ‘Tobo’ range of artistic objects. It is a well-documented fact that in 1935, the year Erich and Ingrid established their workshop in the village of Tobo, they purchased a railroad-car-load of clay from the Swedish town of Höganäs. This was enough to keep them supplied for the rest of their careers, a testament to their meticulous eye for detail and precision in making.

The glaze has been applied both externally and internally, the autumnal hues are warm and gentle on the eyes. The shape resembles that of an apple, slightly more symmetrical and perfect in the silhouette.
