Designed by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstand, Sweden, a ceramic long-necked vase produced in the 1950s as part of his hugely successful 'Alphabet' series.

The form of the not-so-common ‘NSQ’ vase is nothing short of elegant, having very fine thin walls, the main bulbous body swelling and narrowing into a long, slim neck. This is one of the 'loudest' examples of the fur glaze technique that I have seen, featuring large spots of bone white peeking through the drips of dark brown, ochre and hazy light greens.

In almost perfect condition, with only one small burst air bubble of glaze to the underside.
