A very petite jug or pourer - possibly for cream - by Just Andersen of Denmark under the model number 2416, produced in the 1950s.

The structure of both the bright pewter body and finely wrapped cane handle are in excellent condition, both bearing an entirely authentic and perfect light patina. Overall a very smart design of typical modernist balance, and quite frankly adorable proportions.

A designer that needs little introduction in the world of early Danish modernist pewter, Just Andersen has become one of the most recognised and collected makers of Scandinavian pewter of the 20th century. An early career designing for the legendary Georg Jensen led to him founding Just Anderson Pewter in 1918 and the innovations that followed. Andersen not only produced designs in bronze and pewter, but when financial adaptation was required he invented 'Disko Metal', an alloy of lead and antimony to mimic real bronze from his foundry.
