Rare Tin Luggage Check-in Illuminating Model, Kibri, Germany. Early 1930s.
Rare Tin Luggage Check-in Illuminating Model, Kibri, Germany. Early 1930s.
A particularly charming and early train station luggage check-in kiosk originally made by Kibri as a model railway toy.
Hand-painted and increasingly rare to find, everything from the colour to the shapes undeniably evoke the feeling of a Wes Anderson miniature. Completely original in every sense of the word, retaining much of the mustard yellow paint with plenty of crackling and peeling from nearly a century of existence.
A 'light-up' example, this will be wired as a lamp to order suitable for its destined region. We think it's crucial to retain this original feature to truly appreciate those reverse painted glass panels. A simply lovely piece of toy design history and a very clean example at that.
Specifications:
To be wired for UK/US/EU with a plug upon request (included in the price)
Height: 15cm / Width: 20cm / Depth: 15cm
