Rare ‘Yote’ Collapsable Iron Trivet, W. J. Riley, England. Late 1920’s
An extremely unique design and very scarcely available likely due to low production numbers, this folding iron trivet is marked with its original patent number 269822. This was registered in 1927 by W. J. Riley as 'an extensible stand for supporting articles' whereby the legs are 'formed by cranked extensions of the links and may be pressed to an ornamental outline of hollow section'.
This example is stamped 'Yote' alongside its corresponding registration number, suggesting a model name for the design. Exceptionally lightweight, the frame expands from a compact standing shape to an elongated geometric structure supported on six sculptural legs.
Specifications:
Height: 8.5cm / Length (fully extended): 40cm / Length (closed): 9.5cm / Width: 18cm
