This large oxblood sculpture is a visual maze, drawing attention in all directions, it is difficult to see where it begins or ends. The off-white highlights echoes similarities between that of Jean Dubuffet’s cartoon-like sculpture; strong and intentional shapes, defined and obviously opposed to blending in. As with other pieces in Palm’s collection, this glaze is mostly smooth with the occasional ‘toothy texture’. Palm’s artistry and skill is on full display with a focus on fluidity, with regards to form and glaze.
